Hello parents!
This past Sunday was such an encouragement both in our main Worship service and in High School ministry! It is such an important reminder from James that we must OWN our sin and recognize it is OUR responsibility. In our High School gathering Pat taught on Pneumatology (the study of The Holy Spirit), and it was a really cool time in small groups to discuss the person and work of the Holy Spirit. It has been awesome working through the different foundations of biblical theology with our students, and we are excited to study Soteriology (the study of salvation) this coming Sunday!

This week we continue our series “Respectable Sins”, specifically looking at the topic of pride. I have found that pride, because of its commonality, is seen as easy to ignore and not kill. But, we know that God is opposed to the proud and gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). That will be our theme verse as we strive towards gospel centered humility.
Here are some questions to ask your student on the ride home:
How does Jesus describe greatness?
Where does pride exist in your life?
How can you go about killing pride?
Trunk or Treat 10/30
We have confirmed our location this year to be back in the parking lot of Rival Coffee! We are so excited for the outreach opportunity this event provides. This will be a night where students come in costume, and go car to car “trunk or treating” BUT the catch is they don’t just get candy for showing up! They have to complete a FUN task at each car in order to be rewarded with candy. Personally, my favorite part is that when students complete each station they can get a free coffee from Rival. WE NEED YOU to decorate your car, create an activity and pass out candy. SIGN UP YOUR TRUNK @ THE LINK BELOW!
